Annual Pancake Breakfast – October 27, 8:00 am – 10:00 am

The Edison Rotary Club invites you to join us for breakfast!

$10 per person gets you breakfast, door prizes and a chance to participate in our Tricky Tray auction (cost of Tricky Tray tickets additional).

Proceeds to benefit the Edison Rotary Scholarship Funds and other community and international projects.

Visit from Literacy NJ

The Edison Rotary Club welcomed Mary Ellen Firestone from Literacy NJ to our club on  May 11th to discuss the work that Literacy NJ does around the state and the services they provide, including tutoring in reading, High School Equivalency preparation and teaching English language skills. One statistic that shocked us is t that 17% of NJ adults struggle with literacy!

JP Stevens Interact Club Annual Fundraiser

Edison Rotary Club President-Elect, Rich Phelan joined the JP Stevens High School Interact Club for their annual Fundraising Dinner. This year’s dinner was for the benefit of a UN High Commissioner for Refugees family that recently arrived in the US from Pakistan, where they were living under high risk conditions. Congratulations to the JPS Interact Club for a successful event!

Hands of Hope Coat Distribution

The Edison Rotary Club continued our tradition of participating in St. James Episcopal Church’s  Hands Of Hope annual coat distribution. The club members were part of a large group of volunteers, including church members and youth and faculty from local schools,

In all, 285 coats were distributed to families in need. The families were also provided with a hot meal.

Hands of Hope runs a soup kitchen and food pantry on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month and also provide other events such as a health fair as well as the annual coat drive for needy families. for more information go to http://handsofhopenj.net/

Shri Krishna Nidhi Foundation Hosts Gala to promote Diabetes Awareness

The Edison Rotary Club is proud to support New Jersey based Shri Krishna Nidhi (SKN) Foundation as they host its Foundation’s Gala on Saturday, September 19, 2015  at the Holiday Inn Clinton, NJ.  The  Gala’s focus is on living a healthier lifestyle to STOP diabetes and its complications. Their main goal is to facilitate the launch of SKN Foundation’s South Asian Diabetes Education & Prevention Program (SADEP).  SKN Foundation aims to provide community based education and resources for families to overcome the challenges associated with diabetes in collaboration with the American Diabetes Association, NNJ.

The South Asian Diabetes Education & Prevention (SADEP) Program will provide

  • Educational Resources for the Community
  • Educational Resources for the Provider
  • Assessment & Self-Management Support
  • Advocate about the health disparities of South Asians affected with diabetes
